CAMPAIGN DAY
Help Labour win in Plymouth - Saturday 26 APRIL 2008

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED ON THE CAMPAIGN DAY
I need your help...
The local elections are under 40 days away and the campaign is in full swing in SW Devon and across Plymouth . We have a full slate of candidates standing in Plympton and Plymstock and we're busy campaigning on local issues from the twenty year old Tory pledge to build a swimming that they've set aside precisely * nothing * for in their budget to campaigning to save Chaddlewood Fields from being sold by the Tories for high-cost housing robbing Plympton of its community green space.
That's why I need your help. We have many people already helping on the ground – thank you – but we need more help if we are to take on the Tories and their big-spending candidates.
On Saturday 26 April we're holding a big campaign day in Plymouth . We're asking people to come out and help if they're living in Plymouth or to come to Plymouth and help. This is the last Saturday before polling day and several marginal wards in Plymouth need our help to win as do our candidates in Plympton and Plymstock. We will win a hollow victory if we take seats in my constituency only to lose hard working Labour councillors in other parts of the City so it is time to get stuck in right across Plymouth and show the Tories there are no no-go areas for Labour!
CAMPAIGN DAY STARTS AT 10.30am with leafletting in Plymouth Sutton. If you are free at this time and can help please let me know.
THE BIG LEAFLET DROP AT 2PM - the big event of the day is the biggest leaflet drop of the year in Plympton. We are meeting at 2pm at the Co-op on the Ridgeway in PLYMPTON. Here. We have ten thousand leaflets to deliver in one day! Can you help us get them all out to every voter in Plympton? This is our challenge. Let's do it! Bring friends, family - but spread the word, that Labour is working hard for you in Plympton!
…and if you need some more good reasons why we need to fight for Labour in Plymouth here's just three things buried in appendix C of page 85 of the Tories' latest Budget for Plymouth City Council:
Children's' services funding helping our City's young people– CUT BY £3 MILLION
Community Services that provides social housing across Plymouth – CUT BY £3.9 MILLION
Development funding to provide transport and jobs – CUT BY £9.5 MILLION
…oh and Council Tax is going up!
Please come and help – Saturday 26 April from 2pm . Please put the Campaign Day in your diary and let's fight for Plymouth .
Thanks
Luke Pollard
