Vote Red, Go Green
There's a lot of talk about green politics at the moment. There's not enough action. That's why I want to set an example by making my campaign carbon neutral.
At the end of the election campaign an independent expert will calculate the carbon emissions generated by the Luke Pollard for South West Devon campaign and we'll offset that amount as part of our return to the Electoral Commission. As far as I know, this is the first time that a political campaign has calculated its cost in carbon, and attempted to offset the effects.

VOTE RED, GO GREEN PLEDGES
In order to reduce the carbon footprint of my campaign as much as possible, I pledge to:
- Print leaflets on recycled paper or from paper from sustainable forests
- Campaign online as much as possible
- Reduce car travel wherever possible
- Work with local suppliers to minimise travel costs
- Ask campaigners coming from outside the constituency to offset their travel
If you can think of any other ways of reducing this campaign's carbon footprint please let me know
